Kaukapakapa Primary School is situated at
the southern entrance to the Kaukapakapa Village, about 10 minutes
north-east of Helensville. The school has a roll of around 220 by
the end of each year and caters for children from year 0 (New Entrants)
to Year 8 (Form 2).
We have a large playing field, adventure
playground, shade areas, large trees including a stand of kahikatea,
swimming pool, library and two
new courts. A community hall, that we have daily access to, is adjacent
tothe school.
Our emphasis on education is catering for
the individual needs of children. This year we will have classes
embarking on outdoor programmes based on water activities such as
canoeing and sailing, or a week visiting Rotorua. Four classes will
also spend two days and an overnight stay at the Auckland Maritime
Museum.
Sport is an important feature and we take
part in many inter-school exchanges. All our classrooms have at
least two up-to-date computers readily accessible as resources for
pupils to use in their daily studies. As well, pupils have access
to digital cameras, scanners, colour printers and the internet.
We are fortunate to have a most supportive
Board of Trustees and a motivated, highly active School Support
Group.
