Helensville Brochure

Helensville Pony Club is a successful, small club based at the Helensville Showgrounds, State Highway 16, Helenville.

The club season runs from September to April, meeting on Wednesdays at 5:30pm, either with instructors at the showgrounds, or occasionally at an instructor's premises.

...What We Do

Depending on numbers, Helensville Pony Club aims to have classes for:

• Lead Rein
• Juniors (working toward their D Certificate)
• Intermediate (working towards their C Certificate, which takes two years)
• Senior (C Certificate or beyond)
• Adult riding

Some of the club's achievements include:

• Coming 6th from 13 teams at the 2008 Mounted Games Zone Finals.
• Winning the 2004 Intermediate Schools Challenge Trophy against 18 other schools.
• Avondale Jockey Club Sprint Races - winner of one race, placings in others and finishing third overall on points
• Members represented Kumeu District in the Area Dressage ODE and Games
• 100% pass rate for both D and C certificates.

The club also participates in open ribbon days, dressage, ODEs, games, showjumping, in-hand shows and A&P shows. Some members participate in endurance events in the off season.

We have held highly successful overnight camps with a variety of activities, including a long farm ride and a fun cross country event.

The club hosts a minimum of two events per year, usually one showjumping/dressage day and one open ribbon day.

...Membership

Membership subs for the 2010-2011 season are:

• $125 - Riding member
• $100 - Each additional riding family member
• $10 - Adult member (riding members under 18 must have an adult member join)
