Roses Family Fun Run
Saturday, 11th February. Starts 2pm at Springs Rd, Parakai, running 4.2km to Mill Rd, Helensville. Adults $10, team of 4 or family (2 adults, 2 kids) $30. Organised by Helensville Lions Club in conjunction with Te Tangi Ora, Kaipara Collective. Spot prizes on the day, and certificates for those that complete the course. Open to adults, kids, families, teams, individuals. Participants can walk, run, dress up.
Return transport to the start provided. Followed at the Riverside Reserve by a community market from approx 3pm, waka regatta, children's entertainment and live music.

Horse Assisted Learning Showcase
Sunday, 12th February, 2pm-4pm at Dune Lakes Lodge, 470 Wilson Road, South Head. Free. A 2 hour 'taster' session of the NZ-HALO
programme, a therapeutic approach incorporating horses
experientially for emotional growth and learning. It addresses mental health and human development needs including behavioural issues, attention deficit disorder, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship problems and communication needs. Participants learn
about themselves and others by taking part in activities with horses and then processing feelings, behaviours and patterning.
No riding
is involved and no previous horse experience is necessary.
