Helensville Hospice Shop Garage Sale

Painting Group at the Art Centre
Every Monday, 10am-2pm at The Art Centre, Karaka Street, Helensville. Cost: Gold coin donation. A relaxed meeting place for local artists to get together and work on their own projects. Vipassana Meditation Centre Open Day

Waioneke School 16th Annual Golf Tournament
Friday, March 19 at South Head Golf Club. To raise funds for the drainage and upgrading of the school playing fields. A fun team event with the chance to win prizes and sample local cuisine. Mind Body & Spirit Expo
Friday, 16th and Saturday 17th April, 10am - 5pm at the Helensville War Memorial Hall. Free. Come along for a reading, a healing or to buy some new age/spiritual products and accessories. The expo will feature a large range of discounted spiritual and pagan books; incense, herbs, and crystals; drum, meditation and music CDs and posters; oracle and tarot cards; plus giftware. Featuring professional clairvoyants and qualified natural health practitioners. On Friday, 16th from 7pm participants can take part in the healing power of a Drum Circle, $2 per adult and kids free, BYO drum or hire a Djembie for $5, no experience necessary as free training is provided. Mobile Breast Screening
From Monday, April 19th until Friday, May 14th at the Mitre 10 carpark, 41 Mill Rd, Helensville. Free for women aged 45-69 years. Women aged 45 to 69 years are entitled to a free mammogram every two years through the BreastScreen Aotearoa programme. A breast screening mammogram is the best way to detect an early breast cancer, and early detection is the best protection. Contact Any Buswell, BreastScreen Waitemata Northland for an appointment. Canoe and Kayak Rodney Coast Challenge
Sunday, 14th November 2010 in Rodney District. Cost: $50 - $70. An entry level multisport event with a family atmosphere. Course begins at Muriwai Beach near Helensville and finishes at Wenderholm Regional Park on the East Coast. 10km forest run, 30km road cycle, 24km mountain bike on rural roads, 8km kayak to finish.
